Delivering end-to-end managed services for DGFP hospital automation programs

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) operates a network of healthcare facilities across Bangladesh focused on maternal and child health, reproductive health services, and family planning. Crystal Technology was engaged to provide a full managed service engagement covering the hospital automation systems deployed at DGFP facilities, ensuring these digital health platforms remained operational, up-to-date, and effectively utilized.

Under this managed service contract, Crystal Technology assumed responsibility for the complete technology lifecycle — from ongoing software development to address new clinical requirements and regulatory changes, through daily operational support provided by deployed field manpower, to systematic maintenance of all software, hardware, and network components across the DGFP hospital automation footprint.

A key focus of the engagement was building internal capacity within DGFP facilities through structured training programs. Crystal Technology designed and delivered role-based training curricula for clinical staff, administrative personnel, and facility IT coordinators, ensuring that each user category could confidently operate the automation system within their specific workflow context.

What we delivered.

Hospital Software Development

Continued development and enhancement of DGFP hospital automation software, incorporating new modules for maternal health tracking, family planning service delivery records, and updated reporting requirements mandated by DGFP leadership.

Role-based Staff Training

Customized training programs designed for different user roles — physicians, midwives, family planning counselors, pharmacists, lab technicians, and administrative staff — ensuring each group can effectively use the system in their daily workflows.

Field Manpower Supply

Deployment of experienced IT professionals at DGFP facilities to provide hands-on operational support, assist clinical users with system navigation, manage data quality, and serve as the local technology liaison for each site.

Software Maintenance & Updates

Regular software maintenance cycles including feature enhancements, bug resolution, security patching, database optimization, and compatibility updates to keep the hospital automation platform reliable and current.

Hardware & Network Support

Ongoing support for all deployed computing hardware and network infrastructure including diagnostics, repairs, component replacements, network performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Service Level Management

Structured service delivery with defined response times, escalation procedures, monthly performance reporting, and regular review meetings with DGFP stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and user satisfaction.
