Creating a centralized digital repository for Bangladesh's private medical education data

The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) in Dhaka oversees the regulation and quality assurance of private medical colleges across Bangladesh. Crystal Technology was commissioned to develop a comprehensive software platform (SD-09) that digitizes the vast body of administrative, academic, and regulatory data associated with private medical colleges, replacing fragmented paper-based records with a unified digital system.

The platform captures and organizes critical institutional data including college registration details, faculty information, student enrollment records, infrastructure compliance data, academic performance metrics, examination schedules, accreditation status, and inspection reports. This centralized digital repository enables DGME officials to efficiently monitor institutional compliance, generate analytical reports, and make informed regulatory decisions.

Crystal Technology handled the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering with DGME stakeholders, through system design and architecture, iterative development and testing, data migration from existing paper and spreadsheet records, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-launch support to ensure smooth adoption by DGME personnel.

Full-stack web application for managing private medical college data, featuring institution profiles, faculty databases, student enrollment records, infrastructure compliance tracking, and accreditation status monitoring.

Data Migration & Digitization

Systematic conversion of existing paper records, legacy spreadsheets, and fragmented documents into structured digital format within the new platform, with data validation and quality assurance at every stage.

Reporting & Analytics Engine

Built-in analytics and reporting module enabling DGME officials to generate institutional compliance reports, comparative analyses, trend summaries, and regulatory dashboards for informed policy decisions.

User Access & Security

Role-based access control system ensuring that different categories of DGME users — administrators, inspectors, data entry operators, and senior officials — see only the information relevant to their responsibilities.

User Training & Documentation

Comprehensive training sessions for DGME staff on platform navigation, data entry procedures, report generation, and system administration, supplemented with detailed user manuals and quick-reference guides.

Post-launch Support

Dedicated post-deployment technical support covering bug resolution, minor feature adjustments based on user feedback, performance optimization, and assistance during the initial operational stabilization period.
