Converting municipal paper records into actionable digital data for DSCC

Crystal Technology was contracted by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to undertake a comprehensive data entry, software development, and report generation project in 2012. The engagement addressed DSCC's need to digitize large volumes of paper-based municipal records and develop custom software tools to manage, analyze, and generate reports from the captured data.

The project involved deploying trained data entry operators to systematically convert physical records into structured digital formats, ensuring accuracy through multi-level verification processes. Crystal Technology developed custom software applications tailored to DSCC's specific data management requirements, enabling efficient storage, retrieval, and manipulation of the digitized records.

The report generation component provided DSCC officials with automated, formatted reports for administrative decision-making, regulatory compliance, and public accountability. This project was one of Crystal Technology's earliest engagements with Dhaka South City Corporation and established the foundation for subsequent DSCC projects including birth certificate software maintenance and holding tax bill book printing.
