Complete hospital automation of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation for DGHS CMSD — agreement June 2013, completed 2016.
Crystal Technology was awarded the contract by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD), Dhaka to undertake the full hospital automation of two nationally significant healthcare facilities: the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). The agreement was signed in June 2013.
This dual-institute project was one of the most ambitious hospital automation undertakings in Bangladesh at the time. NICVD, the country's premier cardiac care center, and NITOR, the leading orthopaedic and trauma institute, each required comprehensive digital transformation spanning patient management, clinical operations, laboratory services, pharmacy, billing, and administrative reporting — all delivered concurrently.
Crystal Technology managed the complete project lifecycle for both institutes including custom software development, hardware procurement and installation, structured LAN networking, extensive staff training programs, dedicated on-site manpower deployment, and ongoing maintenance. The project laid the foundation for Crystal Technology's long-standing relationship with both institutions, which continued through subsequent extension and maintenance contracts.
Full-stack hospital management systems for both NICVD and NITOR with modules for patient registration, OPD, IPD, emergency, billing, pharmacy, laboratory, and reporting — each tailored to the institute's specialized clinical workflows.
Procurement, delivery, and commissioning of desktops, monitors, printers, barcode scanners, label printers, UPS systems, and peripheral devices at both national institutes, equipping all departments for digital operations.
Design and installation of structured LAN cabling and network infrastructure at NICVD and NITOR, connecting all clinical departments, server rooms, and administrative offices with reliable high-speed connectivity.
Extensive training programs for doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, and administrative staff at both institutes, with hands-on workshops, workflow demonstrations, and user manuals for all deployed modules.
Dedicated IT support teams stationed at both NICVD and NITOR for daily system operations, user assistance, real-time troubleshooting, data management, and coordination with hospital administration.
Ongoing maintenance services at both institutes covering software updates, bug fixes, database administration, hardware servicing, server monitoring, and continuous system enhancements throughout the project period.
